The installation of our cabinets presented MANY unwelcome surprises. I hired a professional to do the cabinet installation because I expected them to know how to do it correctly, and I did not expect to pay for them to screw up on my dime. After ordering our cabinets six weeks out, we had the issue with several cabinets not being the right size or just plain missing, so therefore our kitchen remodel was extended another six weeks to get everything re-ordered and installed. The know that were installed on the drawers were not centered and looked horribly awkward next to the adjacent doors and it was clear that no preparation went into deciding where to drill the hole. Even now several years later I still have one bank of drawers that has one knob off center to the right, while the rests are centered. The installer made an attempt to put wood putty in the rest of the screw holes that were off center and then re-screw a new hole. Then they used the wrong material to install the backsplash on the hard surface countertop. Grout was used and it dried and cracked out immediately, within days before the installation was done. I complained and asked for it to be redone correctly, and was told that they should have used a silicone caulk. However they refused to take out the old grout and insisted the best solution was to just regrout over the existing grout. They did this at least 3 times and it was never fixed. Years later I am now trying to figure out the best way to remove the old grout and caulk it myself. I wish I would have never used Aurora. There were so many other issues and lengthy emails, calls and meetings to document our kitchen mistakes. We walked away extremely unhappy knowing we will not refer anyone to Aurora, and we always make sure to steer people away from them if they are looking for a kitchen remodel.
